Cans in a Box (answer)

On the left we have my solutions. And on the right we have the improved solutions, which I had to look up. My first five solutions were optimal, and my last three were not. My solution with eight cans should perhaps have suggested the optimal solution for seven cans (which has a loose can, by the way).
