Jim's Internet Vortex

Jim leaning and wavingWelcome to Jim's Internet Vortex, where the law of gravity seems to apply only loosely. That is me, leaning and waving. It feels really strange standing here. I tried to stand up straight, but I almost fell over. The water in a glass is tilted. Objects fall at an angle. A ball zooms away across the floor. Lots of other weird things happen. It is really amazing.

Gravity does not always pull exactly straight downward. There is a slight pull toward mountains, and cliffs. The effect is measurable, with instruments. But, it is never really noticeable. So, what is happening here, at Jim's Internet Vortex?

Jim wavingHere we see the real situation. The entire place is leaning, and I am standing straight. The con man (his name is Jim, too) who built the shack made it lean, to match the leaning trees, so he could cash in on what seemed to be an Internet Vortex. Why are the trees leaning? It may be prevailing winds, or the direction of sunlight. An avalanche may have made the trees lean. But it is probably because of an earthquake; the ground may tilt because of the quake. Jim may have to trim the tops of the trees, when they start to grow straight up again.
