Wild Red Robbie

© Copyright 1999, Jim Loy

When my cousin Robbie was little, he was a pain. He was energetic, greedy, and rebelious. My brother and I sometimes called him Wild Red Robbie, for some reason (There was a wrestler named Wild Red Berry). One Christmas, after he had opened what seemed like a whole house full of presents, Robbie asked, "Is that all?" In my family, those words became the symbol of greed and ingratitude. When I am disatisfied with life, I sometimes find myself asking, "Is that all?" I smile at this little joke. And I find myself just a little more satisfied with the many rewards and gifts that I have received through the years.
