Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary (errata)

© Copyright 1999, Jim Loy

I am trying to correct mistakes in my Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary. Rather than correct it one entry at a time, I will be collecting the corrections here. And then, I will correct the various pages of the dictionary, later. In that way, if you are printing out my dictionary, you won't have to reprint the same page twice, when I correct two different mistakes on one page. Also, you may appreciate this record of just what has been corrected.

Errata #1 (1/5/99) [not yet entered into the body of the dictionary]:

All of these belong in Part I of the dictionary. The first line, here, indicates that "speech," in the definition, is misspelled for that entry. The other four are abbreviations which need to be added to existing entries.

Errata #2 (1/5/99) [not yet entered into the body of the dictionary]:

These two are in Part I. With the first, I misspelled the transliteration. The second, I neglected to include. There are, of course, thousands of Egyptian words which I did not include in the dictionary. I have tried to be selective, as this is a small dictionary. But, there are some common words that I missed.

Errata #3 (1/25/99) [not yet entered into the body of the dictionary]:

Errata #4 (5/27/99) [still not entered into the body of the dictionary]:

I misspelled (by copying Budge, apparently) the transliteration of Isis, in both Parts. That moves her to page one in Part I. I still have not proofread the entire dictionary, as I have been busy.

Errata #5 (4/23/00) [still not entered into the body of the dictionary]:

I omitted Hathor from both Part I and Part II of the dictionary.
