This is the traditional method of drawing an ellipse. The two lines to the green dot add up to a constant length. The circles are there just to define the two lengths. The red dot on the right defines the constant length. The Cinderella program would have to deal with an infinite discontinuity if the yellow dot got too far to the left or right. I don't know how the programmers dealt with this problem.
