There are infinitely many ways to dissect a Greek cross (made of five squares as shown left, below) into a square. Move the red dot to see many of these dissections. Occasionally the red dot may go outside the bounds that were meant to restrain it. Outside those bounds, the drawing becomes confused, even though some of these are valid four-piece solutions. With most of these you will see a swastika, a symbol from many cultures (including some American Indian cultures), and later polluted by the Nazis.
