I'm a fan of Steve Martin. He went from world-class semi-professional comedian, to fine actor, to playwright, to novelist. Almost everything he has done has been very good. But this latest short book is amazing. It is about Daniel, a brilliant, very neurotic, and weird young man who is in love, and who cannot cross the street unless there are driveways facing each other on both sides of the street, and who temporarily solves this problem by never using the letter "e" in a sentence. And . . . read the book; you will thank me.
